Truffaut
François Truffaut (1932–1984) published 170 articles in Cahiers du cinéma between 1953 and 1959, and was an even more prolific contributor to the magazine Arts-Lettres-Spectacles, for which he wrote over 500 capsule reviews. Beginning with Les quatre cents coups in 1959, he directed 22 feature films before his premature death from cancer, aged 52.
